AMR Awareness week
Posted or Updated on 18 Nov 2024
This week, we’re shining a light on one of the biggest health challenges of our time: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). When bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites no longer respond to the medicines designed to treat them, it can make infections harder to cure and increase the risk of severe illness.
What can YOU do to help?
• Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Complete the full course of treatment—don’t stop just because you feel better!
• Avoid sharing antibiotics or using leftover medications.
• Practice good hygiene: wash your hands, stay up-to-date on vaccinations, and prevent the spread of infections.
At Church Lane Surgery, we’re committed to using antibiotics responsibly to protect their effectiveness for the future. If you have questions about antibiotics or infections, we’re here to help.
Let’s work together to combat AMR and keep life-saving medicines working for generations to come.
